The via 313 Story
Via 313 was born out of homesickness and hunger. Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt grew up in Detroit — Motor City, 313 area code — where square, thick-crust pizza baked in blue steel pans is a birthright, not a trend. When they landed in Austin, TX, they craved the pizza of their childhood and couldn't find it anywhere.
So in 2011 they did what any self-respecting Detroiters would do: they built a trailer, perfected the dough recipe, and parked it on South Lamar. The line wrapped around the block from day one. What started as a humble food trailer quickly became an Austin institution — the city's definitive answer to via 313 pizza, Detroit-style.
Today, Via 313 operates multiple locations and a full catering operation, serving crispy-edged, airy-centered, sauce-on-top squares to thousands of Austinites every week. The recipe hasn't changed. The passion certainly hasn't either.
Our Core Values
Every slice of via 313 pizza we serve reflects these four principles — the same ones we've held since parking that first trailer on South Lamar.
Authentic Craft
Every pizza is hand-stretched, pan-pressed, and baked to order. No shortcuts — just the genuine Detroit method, perfected over a decade of practice.
Fresh Ingredients
We source locally wherever possible. Our sauce, cheese, and toppings are chosen for quality and flavor — because great pizza starts with great ingredients.
Community First
We're an Austin business through and through. We give back, hire local, support neighborhood events, and treat every customer like a neighbor.
Joy in Every Bite
Food should make people happy. Whether it's a Tuesday lunch or a Saturday celebration, our goal is a smile with every order — every single time.
